NLS

Every Fall, all newly elected officers nation-wide gather for a weekend of training put on by the National Staff and the Board of Directors. It is a chance for everyone across the country to worship, learn and fellowship together through inspiring sessions from national leaders, recreational activities, breakout sessions, and team-based competitions. The National Leadership Summit is a unique opportunity for the National Staff and Board of Directors to communicate personally with the entire organization to prepare them for their tenure as officers.

Speakers

The newly elected officers have a rare opportunity to hear from some of the fraternity’s oldest and wisest members. Many of the men responsible for the founding of Beta Upsilon Chi are given the floor to help the officers understand the vision and purpose of BYX in greater depth. These men strive to motivate the next generation, as well as prepare them for the challenges they will face in their term. It is an invaluable experience to hear and learn from their success and failures in BYX and beyond.

Breakout Sessions

In order to prepare all officers for their specific position and responsibilities within their local chapter corp, the men are split up and guided through a detailed manual for their position. Led by one of our Leadership Consultants, each group spends a number of hours being introduced in how to effectively serve in their position through hands-on teaching and brainstorming with fellow officers. The breakout sessions allow officers to dive into their position and explore ideas that are in line with the vision and conduct of the fraternity.

Brotherhood

The whole weekend provides the officers from numerous different schools the chance to connect with each other and build relationships. It gives these young men the insight to see that BYX is so much bigger than just their campus and gives them a look into how other chapters function and where they excel. They can learn from one another and take new, fresh ideas and implement them back at their local chapter. Along with that, Leadership Consultants are able to lay important foundations with the officers that they will be walking alongside during their tenure in office.
